COLLABORATIVE JOURNALISM RESOURCE HUB

Apply for our collaborative sustainability accelerator

The sustainability accelerator is designed to coach collaboratives on building their own business goals for financial self-sufficiency. It is a year-long structured program that will include strategic review, goal-setting, and practical implementation, followed by one-on-one coaching and cohort convenings. Four collaboratives will be selected to participate in 2025 and four in 2026. The program will be led by experts from Blue Engine Collaborative, an organization focused on sustainability and business transformation efforts.

This is an intensive program that includes group and individual activities. Attendance is required for all activities.

Eligibility criteria:

— Must be an existing journalism collaborative
— Must offer evidence that the collaborative is working on sustainability, defined as growing and/or diversifying the sources of its support
— Must be comprised of multiple news partners (more than two entities)
— Collaborative partners must be representative of the community that the collaborative serves
— Two collaborative representatives must take part in the accelerator: The collaborative project manager and one person from a collaborative partner (for backup purposes)

The application deadline is June 5, 2025. Collaboratives will be selected by June 27 and notified on June 30.

The program will begin in the third quarter of 2025 (an exact date will be determined by the participating collaborative and Blue Engine) and continue for one year.
